On the way home from the Blue Lagoon at Akamas bay in Cyprus by boat, Freja decides to write a message in a bottle. She finds some paper, a pen and an empty coke pet bottle. She writes her message saying her name, how old she is and wheres she´s from and throws the bottle overboard when we are halfway to Latchi harbour. What happens next amazed us all. 8 days later she received this email below. This reading is to good not to share. Give your view in the comments section. Me? I hope they can meet someday….

Dear Freja,
My name is Stephanie and I am from Limassol in Cyprus. I am much older than you, almost 30 in just a few days:)) .I would like to inform you that I have found your message in a bottle and I was very excited when I did! It made my day even more brighter than it already was.
I have always wanted to write a message in a bottle and have many a time encouraged friends to send one away in the ocean. It passed me by however. Maybe having found yours is an opportunity for me to finally do so! Its actually a therapeutic tool in ’letting go’ of things.
I am however interested to know when did you write the note? Moreover did you throw it into the ocean and from where / which area were you in? Im interested to see the time lapse between the two.
I dont know why I was lucky enough to have laid eyes on your bottled message, although im sure I will connect the universal pieces to the puzzle which has ’connected’ us somehow in this way at this moment in time.
I hope you are safe and lucky Freja.
Being almost 30 years old is a fantastic feeling, it is said that it is the build up of most aspirations and accomplishments. If however, I could offer you one piece of advise, it would be that you enjoy your young years (i used to love being 14 years old).
Time goes by very quickly and it comes with responsibility, joys, let downs, expectations and so much more. Every age has its beauty and memorable moments. Anything you do in your life is up to you Freja.Your actions will always have reactions whether in a negative or positive way. If you could choose to be anything, choose to be kind and never ever allow ANYONE (friends/family/colleagues) to ruin your self worth. Ever! Know your value and love yourself.
Thank you for your note, you are amazing <3
Much happiness!
Stephanie

Hello Stephanie!
I’m so glad you found my bottled message, I never thought anyone would answer!
We have just arrived home to Sweden after 3 weeks in Cyprus (we have a summer house in Kalavasos and we usually fly down to Cyprus for a couple of weeks on the summer holidays).
On the 5th of June we went on a boat trip to the Blue Lagoon in Akamas. We dived and swam around a little and then we went back to the harbor in Latchi again.
At afternoon on the trip back home, my brother and I sat down with a bottle of soda and some chips on the roof of the boat, me drawing and he tanning. After a while I came up with the idea to rip out one of the pages and write a message to put in the empty soda bottle.
I thought the idea that someone could find it was very exciting, but both my brother and I thought that it most likely would just end up as some piece of trash floating in the ocean. I’m really happy it didn’t, and I would really encourage you to do the same! It was so fun getting your message and knowing that my bottle made it! (You should have seen the expression my brother had when I showed it to him)
So if we do the math and count the time between the time I threw the bottle in the sea (June 5, roughly 14:00) to the time you wrote me back (July 13 22:12) If I’m right, it means it had gone by 8 days, 8 hours and 12 minutes before you answered my message!
I just want to know, when did you find it? Was it at a harbor or maybe a beach? And how did you find it? Were you with someone? Did you spot it on the way to somewhere? I’d love to know!
The picture I sent is of my family; my dad, my mom, my 12-year old brother, and me sitting on the roof. They all send their greetings to you 🙂
Also, since you gave me a piece of advice, I’ll give you one too:
Don’t worry so much about the future.
It’s something I have seen a lot of adults do. And I don’t know what you’re worrying about. The future will come soon anyway, and while people waste their time bothering about it, they forget to look up from the worlds inside their heads and focus on reality instead. Focus on the smell of salty sea air. Or the colour of the sky.
Or bottled messages floating in the water.
Lots of love, and continue having good eyes 😉
